How to read it. Results come from structured AI analysis of thousands of public sources. Signals can be mixed, and announced investments do not always go ahead, so read the tracker as direction of travel and check the linked source before relying on a single entry.
How it works
From public disclosure to a sourced entry
01
Screen
Public disclosures and reporting on STOXX Europe 600 companies are screened for moves that change their footprint in the United States.
02
Classify
Structured AI analysis records each move as investing or withdrawing, with sector, target region and scale where the company has disclosed them. Details that are not disclosed are left blank.
03
Source
Every entry links to the public source it rests on, so you can check the original before relying on it.
Why April 2025
The broad US tariffs announced on 2 April 2025 made clear that Washington wants foreign companies to produce and invest more in the United States. Not every move in the tracker is a direct response to the tariffs. Taken together, the entries indicate whether Europe's largest companies are aligning with that push or reducing their US footprint.

What the moves mean for your organisation
The tracker shows what Europe's largest companies are announcing. ESF puts those moves in the context of your sector, your supply base and your market access. The tracker also powers Continuous Monitoring, our service that alerts you when risk shifts at a dependency already mapped for you.
Benchmark your peers
See how comparable companies in your sector are repositioning, based on what they have announced rather than on commentary.
Test a US decision
Set a planned investment, sourcing change or market entry against what peers have announced.
