Henri Vanhanen joins ESF as Senior Advisor
Henri Vanhanen joined ESF as Senior Advisor in August 2026. He is a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council's Scowcroft Center.
Henri Vanhanen has joined the Economic Security Forum (ESF) as Senior Advisor. He is a foreign and security policy expert and author, specialising in Finland, Northern Europe and the Euro-Atlantic region.
His career spans research at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, government service at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the European Parliament and the Embassy of the United States in Helsinki, and industry roles across the Finnish defence and aerospace sector. He is a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council's Scowcroft Center and is regularly quoted in the Financial Times, The Economist and the Washington Post. With Mika Aaltola, he co-authored Etulinjassa (Otava, 2026), on Finland's security in a disordered world.
