Founder & CEO
A globally recognized thought leader in geoeconomics and former Research Director at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs. Mikael has been a Visiting Fellow at both Oxford and Cambridge, and currently serves on the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network. He has advised governments, corporations and international organizations worldwide. His pioneering work has helped establish geoeconomics both as a scientific field and as a practically oriented business discipline.

Programme Overview

The programme runs over one full day, divided into 4 modules:

Module 1: The New Geoeconomic Reality

Module 2: Corporate Geoeconomics

  • Risk, Agency & Strategic Positioning

  • Case insights from technology, manufacturing, energy & pharma

Module 3: Geoeconomic Risk & Reward Assessment 

  • ESF Risk Catalogue: technology, data, logistics, capital, critical inputs
  • Strategic chokepoints and flow-control
  • Industrial-policy incentives as corporate opportunities
  • Exercise: Evaluate your company’s geoeconomic posture using ESF tools

Module 4: Strategic Foresight Simulation Exercise

  • Scenario-based stress-testing of corporate strategy against future geoeconomic shocks
  • Assessment of impacts on markets, supply chains, technology, and regulation
  • Identification of vulnerabilities, dependencies, and strategic opportunities
